| The most important international missions outreach of the Reedsport Church of God finds expression through our sister church partnership with the Jelgava Russian Baptist Church in Jelgava, Latvia. This partnership began several years ago through the matchmaking of Bridge Builders, International, and it has profoundly affected many members of both our churches. Several members of our congregation have traveled repeatedly to Jelgava to provide support for the ministries of the Jelgava church, and Pastor Dmitri Roshior and his family have visited Reedsport several times, including a half-year visit by Pastor Dmitri’s younger son Stephan. During this time we have developed deep friendships with our fellow Christians from Jelgava. In fact our former pastor, David New’s, retirement from full-time ministry in Reedsport is allowing him to take a teaching position at the Riga Bible Seminary in Latvia to continue the ministry he began with our sister church. A group from our church visited Latvia in July 2005 to lend help and support to the Latvian church. | ![]() |

As part of our commitment to
international partnerships, we financially support Bridge Builders,
International in its commitment to building bridges of ministry between North
America and Eastern Europe.
We support Rick and Jeri
Kemmer, Church of God lay missionaries in Tanzania, with their work with
Children of Promise and economic development for the Tanzanian churches. The
children’s Sunday school classes also provide sponsorship for Anna, a young
Tanzanian girl in the Children of Promise program. The church also supports Krista and Jeremy Fields' work in Mongolia. They are working in the city of Darhan assisting with local economic development, establishing new churches and drilling wells so the people have readily available, clean drinking water. A partnership between our church and Pastor Felipe & Ricarda Suarez located in Ensenada, Mexico has presented another mission opportunity. During the summer of 2006, sixteen members of our congregation visited Ensenada and help with the building of a bathroom facility for the church and presented a four day Vacation Bible School for the children. Individual church members have been assisted in short term mission projects in various locations around the world. Locally the church assists the Pregnancy Resource Center in Coos Bay, is involved in the Lower Umpqua Ministerial Association, as well as tithing funds to the Church of God World Service and the Association of Churches of God in Oregon and SW Washington. |
